When the school year began, Project KELP was just getting started. School is the best place to start, acting as a small but budding community that allows learning and growth. That’s why I created SEC: Sustainable Everyday Club, so we -as students- could participate and notice sustainable actions in our everyday lives.
While this post is drawing to a close, I’ll leave you with the short segment I wrote to present my club for approval by our school’s principal:
“In the wake of a changing world, now is the time to create a better world together. As students and part of the growing community, we can use our knowledge and influence to introduce others how living a sustainable lifestyle does not only benefit themselves, but to the whole world. Small steps taken by a large group of people goes a long way, and with steps like these, we can really make an impact. When you join our club, you become an active part of protecting, saving, and restoring our planet. We aim to promote the sense of sustainability in our everyday life with actionable items and habits that we can use and do each day.”
